All requests to turn water service off are processed on the next workday or later. Office hours/workdays are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM (excluding weekends and holidays.).

This request involves turning off water at a current service location and requesting water service at a new location. This request can take up to 24 hours to process. Incomplete information will delay the processing of this order.

In order to request a transfer of your residential service, your present account must be paid up to date and not delinquent. There is a $30 service charge for next business day or pre-scheduled hook up. Our service charge is $60 for Priority Service which includes same day, after hours, weekend or holiday hook up.

To prevent the possibility of flooding, MAWSS requires someone to be on the premises to sign a service ticket indicating it is safe to turn on water on private property. If no one is present, the meter will be installed and left in the "off" position. Customers may turn the water on themselves at the meter. An additional $10 service charge will apply if and additional trip is required by MAWSS to connect the service.

Additional information may be required such as a copy of the deed or lease, along with proof of service from Alabama Power or Mobile Gas.
