The Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) Board of Commissioners has approved a rate increase effective January 1, 2025. Your water and sewer bill will reflect a three percent increase. A family using 5,000 gallons of water monthly will see a $2.11 increase.
Even with this increase, MAWSS remains one of the most affordable utility providers along the Gulf Coast, Alabama, and Southeast. MAWSS does not receive tax dollars and relies solely on ratepayers for funding.
The revenue generated from the rate increase will support projects that ensure that the community receives reliable, quality water and wastewater services and allow the modernization of operations to meet both current demands and future challenges.
