Director of Administrative Services and Customer Experience
Fatima Washington was appointed Director of Administrative Services and Customer Experience in 2021. As a 20-year MAWSS employee, Washington has held various leadership positions since 2005.
In her current role, Fatima is responsible for directing the managers who oversee Customer Operations, Human Resources, Public Affairs, and Supplier Diversity. She previously served as Director of Human Resources, Assistant HR Director, and Employee Relations Manager.
Fatima served as president of the Alabama Association of Public Personnel Administrators board of directors. She is also a past executive board member of SAWDC Alabama Works. The native Mobilian holds a Bachelor's degree of Science in Human Resources from Faulkner University, Montgomery, AL, a Master's of Public Administration, and a Master's of Human Resources, both from Troy University. Fatima also holds three Human Resources certifications: International Public Management Association for Human Resources-Senior Certified Professional (IPMA-SCP), Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and Alabama Association of Public Personnel Administration-Certified Specialist (AAPPA-CS), which she received through Auburn University.
She is a proud Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated member and has two adult sons.
