Mobile Area Water & Sewer System (MAWSS) responded to a wastewater overflow at 50 Westwood St. on June 22, 2023, due to heavy rains. Approximately 2,550 gallons of wastewater overflowed into Woodcock Branch, a tributary of Eslava Creek. Wastewater overflows occur when heavy rainfall infiltrates the sewer system. The overflow has stopped and MAWSS is addressing overflows with capital projects.
